Security Shutter

ULTRA-SECURE

The Ultra-Secure steel roller shutter was developed for school buildings, sports clubs and the like where vandalism and burglary can be a problem.  They are designed to be tough but still easily operated by hand, chain or motor.  A powdercoated finish dresses these doors to fit into most design situations.

A combination of the strength of steel, guides that capture the edges of the curtain from being extracted from the sides, heavy duty aluminium bottom edge with secure locking and ease of operation make this door an obvious choice when considering security in problem areas.

MODELS

50mm slat in 0.4mm, 0.6mm, 0.8mm and 1.0mm gauge
75mm slat in 0.6mm, 0.8mm and 1.0mm gauge
100mm slat in 0.6mm, 0.8mm and 1.0mm gauge

USAGE

The Ultra-Secure roller shutter is designed for standard usage of not more than 5 operations per day however the door can be upgraded for higher usage if necessary.  It is important that your usage requirements are conveyed prior to requesting information or pricing.

OPERATION

Choose between motors, chain, or manual push-up designs based on size, weight or frequency of operation.  A motorized shutter is designed to operate at around 30-cm per second so a 3-metre high door will take around 10-seconds to open or close.

CONTROLS

Electrically operated shutters can be controlled in many ways including up/down/stop push buttons, key switch controls, radio remote handsets, loop detectors, proximity readers, key pads, infrared motion sensors, timer controls and so on.  Doors with an automatic close function must be fitted with a safety devise such as photoelectric beam cells or pressure sensitive bottom edges.

FINISHES

The curtain slats and usually the side guide tracks are formed from galvanised sheet metal.  These can be left uncoated or powdercoated in a wide range of colours for further protection from the elements and to tie in your aesthetic requirements.The brackets and roller drum are typically primer painted in a zinc rich undercoat but can also be powdercoated for a better interior finish.  Keep in mind that doors in a corrosive environment may need special protection.

VENTILATION AND VISION

Slotting and perforations are not available in this model of door as this would lessen the security advantage they are designed for.

WIND PRESSURE

Any wind pressure requirements are already covered by the security design of these roller shutters.

WEATHER SEALS

Weather seals are an optional on the Ultra-Secure roller shutters.

TAPERED BOTTOM

The bottom edge of the door can be tapered in a straight line to match a sloping floor or sill.  Keep in mind that the lower part of the taper will hang into the opening when the door is open unless the head room is sufficient to hide the rolled up door and the taper.

LOCKING

Ultra-Secure steel roller shutters have a range of locking options.  Manually operated doors can be fitted with slide bolts internally or externally with padlocks and Xtra-lock systems.  Electrically operated doors currently need to have slide bolts with a motor isolation switch fitted so that the door cannot be operated while the locks are engaged.A Patented solenoid lock is currently under development to secure all types of overhead door.  Please enquire using the free call button below if this is of interest.

REMOVABLE MULLIONS

This option is handy when wide clear openings are required.

SIDE GUIDE TRACKS

The side guides are designed to capture the edges of the curtain to prevent them from being extracted.  For ease of installation and a tidier appearance, the roller support brackets are fixed to the tops of the guides.  If the curtain is powdercoated then the guides and brackets will also be powdercoated.

HEAD PANEL

When a door is mounted where there is no door head, a matching head panel can be supplied to hide the roller from outside and close off unwanted gaps.

DOOR JAMBS

Galvanised steel door jambs can be designed and fitted when required.  Flashings can also be supplied to tidy up any gaps and improve the finished appearance of the opening.
